Relevant Provisions of the Regulation

(Çankırı Karatekin University Regulation on Associate and Undergraduate Education)

Article 14 - (5/ğ): Single-Course Examination

This is an examination granted at the beginning of a semester/academic year to final-semester students who cannot graduate because they have a failed course and/or because their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is below 2.00. Students may take this examination for a maximum of one course (three courses for students enrolled before 2016).

Article 14 - (5/g): Additional Examination

Students who are unable to graduate from their registered programme at the end of the maximum period of study are granted two additional examination opportunities for all courses in which they have failed despite fulfilling the requirements for taking the examination, except for students who have six or more courses that they have either not taken and/or for which they have not fulfilled the attendance requirements.

Following these examinations:

  • Students who reduce the number of failed courses to five are granted three semesters to complete these five courses;

  • Students who have fewer than five failed courses without taking the additional examinations are granted four semesters;

  • Students who have only one failed course are granted an unlimited number of examination attempts.

However, a student who does not take any of the examinations offered for a total of three academic years, whether consecutively or intermittently, will be deemed to have waived the right to unlimited examination attempts and will no longer be eligible to benefit from this right.
